Everything within reach
The area surrounding Arguineguín offers a wide range of amenities, including excellent restaurants - many known for their delicious seafood - grocery stores (supermercados), several beaches, and vibrant local markets.
A scenic coastal path leads you to one of Gran Canaria’s finest beaches, Anfi del Mar, famous for its white coral sand imported from the Caribbean. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a beautiful seaside walk with ocean views the entire route, as well as several small viewpoints perfect for taking a break. The walk from Arguineguín to Anfi takes about 20–30 minutes on foot, making it ideal for both walking and jogging.
At Anfi, you’ll find a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, shops, and rental services for sunbeds and umbrellas. You can also rent a paddleboard or take a short boat trip from the marina. This makes the beach a popular destination for both locals and tourists—and a major advantage for anyone living within walking distance.
In addition, you're only a short distance from other towns on the island, such as Puerto Rico and Maspalomas, easily accessible by car, bus, or even boat. Gran Canaria is also renowned for its golf courses, including Spain’s oldest 18-hole course, Bandama, just outside Las Palmas, founded in 1891. The mountains surrounding Arguineguín also offer fantastic opportunities for hiking and cycling.
Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico is just a short distance from Arguineguín, and is one of Gran Canaria’s most popular holiday towns - and for good reason. Like Arguineguín, it enjoys sunny weather all year round, beautiful beaches, shopping opportunities, and a wide variety of restaurants.
The town offers several shopping areas with stores, cafés, and entertainment for all ages. The Market Puerto Rico is the largest, where you can explore everything from fashion and home décor to local delicacies and souvenirs. Mogan Mall is the newest and most modern shopping center in the area. Centrally located in Puerto Rico, its open-air layout has made it a favorite destination for both tourists and locals. It features a wide range of fashion and lifestyle stores, with both well-known international brands and tempting local offerings.
Whether you’re craving seafood, tapas, or international cuisine, you’ll find it in Puerto Rico. Restaurants are scattered along the beachfront promenade, in the town center, and by the marina.
At the heart of town lies a family-friendly sandy beach with calm waters. Just a short walk away is the stunning Playa de Amadores, famous for its turquoise water. For the more active visitor, there are plenty of options - from jet skiing and paddleboarding to boat tours and dolphin safaris, all departing directly from the marina.
